It’s time for another group posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.
The awesome co-hosts today are Charity Bradford, S.A. Larsen, AJ, Tamara Narayan, Allison Gammons, and Tanya Miranda!
Don’t forget the Insecure Writer’s Support Group t-shirt is available now! Designed by the very talented Jeremy Hawkins, members can now show their support and commitment to the group.
Purchase your IWSG shirt at the NeatOShop.
I wanted to point out that the awesome Julie Flanders wrote an article for College and Research Libraries News about some of the best websites for writers, and she listed the IWSG site!
We have some great guests here in the coming months, covering some great topics.
In order to continue being a great resource for you, what subjects would you like to see covered here? More about critiques, publishing, marketing, agents, book deals, etc.?
Let us know in the comments!
Any info is good info to someone, whether just starting out or experienced, etc., so post away whatever comes to your bay
ReplyDeleteMy tee-shirt arrived two days ago. It looks even better in reality than in a picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie!

I'm always up for more marketing info. It's always welcomed.
ReplyDeleteThe tshirt looks awesome too.
I think just hearing that everyone goes through the same highs and lows as I do really helps.
ReplyDeleteFor my first visit I'm going to say I'm open and anxious to read all that is covered!
ReplyDeleteI could use a post about how to get library cataloguing info for your self-published book after it has been published. If you've already covered the subject and could send me a link to it, that would be wonderful. Happy IWSG Day!

I second Raquel Byrnes: keep doing what you're doing. It helps many people. Every first Wednesday of every month, we feel that we are not alone, that there is some support and understanding out there.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what you write about it will be just what somebody needs.
ReplyDeleteI would love to heard about what marketing people have found works - that is, works currently. We know Bookbub, which is so darn hard to get. I'm trying Goodreads ads and will happily report back the results.
ReplyDeleteWow, cute t-shirt! I agree with Melodie. I need to look back and read some of the past marketing articles.
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy to read about what other writers are up against and how they deal with issues.
ReplyDeleteSome very good suggestions, everyone. Wishing you all a great, safe, and happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThere's an audience for every kind of 'writerly' topic.
ReplyDeleteHowever, marketing is an ongoing and an ever-changing beast, so these types of posts are never enough.
I'm a nosey kind of person and like to hear the latest and greatest of what's happening with writers and the industry. Recent news about Kindle Unlimited and their idea of paying per page read is an example. Often its Facebook where I learn these things.
