 Summer Can Be A Bummer

I don't like to complain, but this hasn't been my best summer. The days are flying by and I've yet to take a breathier from babysitting grandchildren and/or driving them around. And we had no vacation plans this year...

On a sad note, one of our bengal cats flew the coop. Jasper is, or was an indoor cat with his brother, Milo. Jas learned how to slide open the screen door. We usually catch him quickly, but on a busy day he wandered off. Everyone keeps telling us that he'll be back. But it's now been a week. We've contacted all the local rescues and the ASPCA. The entire neighborhood is also on the lookout. I'm losing hope.

On the flipside: I'm truly blessed to have my health, and 10 grandchildren to keep me somewhat on my toes. To add to the mass confusion in our home, we have added another dog, or rather a puppy.

Yep, that's me! And I'm totally over the moon for these two crazy beasts.

Today, August 5th, I'm praying for the rest of the summer to be blissful. With days filled with childish giggling, playing outdoor games, swimming, and walking the dogs.

I must change my outlook on the season:

Perhaps Summer isn't a Bummer.

Rather:

Summer is a Stunner

  1. Years ago, our cat was gone for weeks. I'd given up hope. One day, I was telling my neighbor about the missing cat and he told me his wife had it. She thought it was a stray. He said, "I told her it is well-fed and friendly. It's not a stray." Another time, my niece lost her kitten and my brother, who was working in AC installation, found it putting an AC unit in a house. Once again, people found the cat wandering and kept it.

I hope you have a calmer summer. Mine has been just as crazy busy.

  4. Our daughter has a Bengal. Smart cat! I wouldn't rule Jasper out. Try putting his litter box outside so he can smell it.

  8. What a cute puppy . . . What a treat to have both dogs and cats! Each with his/her own personality. I hope Jasper finds his way back to you.

  10. Hank's daughter Azlin brought back Clyde her cat from the US. A house cat it managed to run out the house and could not find its way home one day. We scoured the neighbourhood and it was found in the drain after 2 days all dirty. Its personality changed after that. Pray Jasper comes back home. Cathrina!!

  11. Sorry to hear about your disappearing puss. I’m afraid cats do this sort of thing, especially in summer. They normally turn up eventually.
