I have a question and a challenge for you today!
Is there a particular post of yours that garnered the support and encouragement you desperately needed? Or a specific issue that IWSG members helped you with? Or a comment that changed everything for you?
And the challenge – can you invite just one other writer to join the IWSG? Or suggest they follow this site or our Facebook page? Can you help us double our numbers by the beginning of next year?

I am continually amazed by the comments left and support out there. Like Tammy thinking of just one would be hard. One of my most viewed posts was an IWSG post back in the summer. Always happy to help spread the word.
ReplyDeleteI find that it's not even the specific comments that help me sometimes. It's the knowledge that there are other writers out there who have experienced the same things I have and who are willing to share their wisdom. Will definitely spread the word as much as I can.

It is may be because of our time zones, I think that won't manke any difference right. so I am pressing the Pblish button now. LOL

ReplyDeleteI can't think of one particular insecure post that I received encouragement from but I can think of every single time I've thought my work sucked and that I had no business even considering this writing life someone posts on my blog and tells me I rock.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. This group is amazing. It's usually random, something unsolicited, but it always comes when I need it. Funny how that happens. It's scary to put yourself out there, scary to air your insecurities and send your word-babies out into the world. But every single time I do, someone comes back with the encouragement I need to keep going, to keep writing one more word.

The post that I received the most support on my blog was my very first IWSG post two months ago. I was amazed at how nice and generous everyone was.

Today is my third IWSG Wednesday, and I have to say that this group is amazing. You created something fabulous, Alex!
It's hard to point to just one comment, but in general, IWSG has done two amazing things for me: 1) it's so helpful to hear "ME TOO!" from other writers, and to know I'm not alone in my fears and hopes, and 2) I'm growing a following AND getting read other amazing blogs. Both of which are great.

Yes Alex, I felt the support I have been given each first Wednesday of several months helped me write my silly little short story for Halloween. All I could think about when re reading was 'wow, this is so much fun and this is what the group encourages along with just write'. I also have a blog over on WP, and I have posted on my blog there links to the FB page and this website. I am hoping that it helped, and don't mind to repost every three months or so. ReplyDeleteI've received an amazing amount of support every single time I've posted and have found so many excellent blogs and bloggers. I think everyone I know takes part in the IWSG bloghop, but I'll post about it soon just incase!
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy to share this group with fellow writers. We need each other. And there have been many instances where a comment left on my blog made me feel worlds better about my writing. That's one reason why I continue to blog.
ReplyDeleteIt was a comment on someone's blog that finally got me to join IWSG. "You doubt because you care." Those five words gave voice to a fear I didn't know I had and helped release that fear and send it on its way.

I have written about IWSG on my Facebook author page. I have got a lot of encouragement, I've blogged about some of my problems as a writer with Asperger Syndrome and a number of people have had supportive things to say. I almost didn't manage to get anything written today but I wrote the IWSG post just now and wrote a couple comments on blogs, not as many as I wanted to, though.

ReplyDeleteI don't desperately need support or encouragement. I have, I think, a healthy balance. Just working discreetly in the background, with little fanfare, has given me much satisfaction.

ReplyDeleteI can't remember one specific post, but I get something I need each time. Sometimes it seems like I'm just thinking aloud to get my insecurities off my chest, and then I find encouragement to keep going like Ken wanting to read my next chapter. The new version is still in my head...and now I have reason to strengthen it and not let it fade away.
