IWSG Post Day! How Can We Help? And Seeking Co-Hosts.

It’s time for another group posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.

Our awesome co-hosts today are Tina Downey, Elsie, Elizabeth Seckman, and Julie Flanders!

We have two questions for you today!

First, we are here to help you grow as a writer an author by providing valuable information. Our posts and guest posts are written with you in mind.

What other topics would you like to see covered? What else would you like to know? About writing? Promoting? Research? Anything – no question is too dumb! Let us know in the comments and we will address your issues and seek experts who can help.

Second, the IWSG will post during the month of April! If you are participating in the A to Z Challenge, you can either incorporate it into your post or make two separate posts. (Remember to keep it short.)

We’ll need four co-hosts for April 2. If you can co-host on that date (or at a later time) let us know in the comments. (Even better if you’re not participating in the A to Z Challenge – we don’t want to overwhelm anyone.)

Thanks!

Now, go enjoy some IWSG posts.

  1. No suggestions for anything you guys should add. You're doing a great job, and I know so many writers appreciate this group, and the effort those running it make.

I'm not doing the A-Z Challenge this year, so I offer my services as a host for April. :)

  4. Yay! A to Z! I'm still bobbing around on the fence over whether or not I should leap in :S

  5. How about discussing writing a good story versus writing a well structured story. Are they equally important or is one a higher priority than the other? Happy March IWSG everyone! A-Z Challenge is just around the corner.

  6. The A-Z Challenge was an interesting experience last year, but I don't think I'll be doing it again this year. I've got a fresh start to get me writing again, and the last thing I need is a new excuse to procrastinate some more. :)

  9. Research is always an interesting subject. I don't write historical fiction, and still find myself having to do lots of research.
Great group. I enjoyed visiting the site.

  13. You have probably covered this topic often, but it seems a writer can never know too much about editing. At least, that is true in my case.

  15. Not A-Zing this year since I'll be hip-deep in a blog tour for my April release.

That being said, last year's A-Z kick started my butt, but when baby #3 and debut novel released within a few weeks of each other last fall ... yeah. So much for blogging. After today's posts, however, I've been encouraged to start back up my personal blogs & be consistent.

As for suggestions - I'm always looking for marketing ideas, editing tips, and info on the publishing market.

And finally, I'm avail to co-host if you're still needing peeps.

  16. I think it might be nice to compile some genre specific writing tips. Some creative and or gramtical techniques that go over well in one genre may not in another. A few posts asking for ideas and tips, or offering such, based on genre would be really cool.

  17. Good question. There is just so much to learn about this business. There are so many I wouldn't know where to begin. Mostly I think posts about keeping heart, or just hanging in there when times are tough. How do we cope? How do we manage less than inspiring publishers? How do we keep our optimism in face of obscurity? I don't drink but I can understand why so many writers do.

Oh, are I a bubbling writer today.

    Happy IWSG day, Alex!

  18. Alex, I just joined the group - and wrote my first post on my site. It was fun. I'd like to offer to be a co-host on Apr 2, if you still need one. What would I need to do?

  22. Short is good. Really short with lots of pictures is better.

I can co-host on April 2. Tell me what to do.

  26. I am enjoying being back in the swing of IWSG. I love this blog hop. I will be participating in A to Z and look forward to seeing some familiar blogs there! So far, right now, this site does answer my questions, and my needs. Help with doubt and fear, help with material things such as marketing. I really appreciate you being here. Thanks also for commenting on my blog...
