We often struggle with confidence. It helps when others believe in us. But ultimately, we have to believe in ourselves.
We need to believe in our abilities as writers and storytellers.
We need to believe in the stories only we can tell.
We need to believe we are capable of achieving our writing dreams.
Can we do it? Can we believe? Yes we can!
Thanks for your encouraging words!!!
ReplyDeleteTo the point and just what i need :) thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane - short and succinct and so useful .. to have the brain nudge - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI believe....well, sometimes I do. :)
ReplyDeleteBelief can help sustain us indeed
ReplyDeleteIndeed. We do need to believe in ourselves, but we mustn't become full of ourselves either. :)
ReplyDeleteYes! We can do it. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes belief wavers though. Harsh criticism can kill a budding writer faster than anything. By *harsh* I mean vitriol. Not constructive help that every conscientious author is ready to provide.
ReplyDeleteBelief does waiver but I know what to do to get it back. Take a walk, call a friend, turn off the TV, write a letter, pet my dogs, try a new recipe ... anything that takes me out of my head.
ReplyDeleteNice, simple post. I love it!
Yep. And keeping that belief strong is darned hard.
ReplyDeleteMy strength of belief in myself comes and goes. Sometimes I need to remind myself I'm doing okay.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Diane....
ReplyDeleteWe definitely need to believe in ourselves.... Tis is where the passion starts...
Believing in ourselves and our stories is so important.
ReplyDeleteShort and savvy...
ReplyDeleteMy belief is strengthening. I'll get there in my own time.
Thanks Diane!
Believing in myself has alwyas been a struggle for me. It seems to be one of the most important things we can do for ourselves. Thank you for the encouragement.
ReplyDeleteBelief is a huge part of it. Having strategies to renew your belief are important too. Petting my cat and hugs from friends and family are high on my list of renewal strategies.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful word. It's necessary to believe because if you believe in yourself, only then will others believe in you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I needed that today. I recently ordered some business cards for a seminar event I will be attending. I haven't ever needed them before because I live a quiet life, rarely conversing much with people. However, I am in the middle of writing my memoirs and when the card had a space for a title, I put Author and Artist. I have tangled that on my tongue for a couple of weeks now, wondering if I really have anything to say that others will want to read. But, whether they read it or not, I am still writing it. And whether they buy my art or not, I am still making it. So, I guess I need to relax my tongue and just let it flow. I am and author. I am an artist. I feel better now. :)

Indeed! Beautiful sentiment here.
ReplyDeleteYes we can! =)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! It can be hard to keep the faith, but without that belief it is too easy to give up.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that.
ReplyDeleteEncouraging words! Thanks for sharing.

A very inspirational Post!!! Thank You!
ReplyDeleteBelief in yourself or what is possible goes for all aspects of a person's life. People are held back by limitations they feel and others achieve great things because they believe it is possible. The crux is accepting where your efforts fall.
ReplyDeleteA good choice for B and for writers. I think the major reason that we struggle with believing in ourselves is because our culture doesn't believe in us. When the "voices" of the culture are telling you that what you do doesn't matter, or has no lasting value, it means that as artists and writers we are swimming against the current. This is why we need to support each other.
ReplyDelete...And when that belief waivers, it's nice to have a website like this to come to.
ReplyDeleteYes, we definitely can and must if we are going to achieve our goals!
ReplyDeleteWonderfully encouraging words!
ReplyDeleteSimply but eloquently put!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the motivation!
