The First Wednesday in March

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time - and return comments. This group is all about connecting! Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post. And please be sure your avatar links back to your blog! Otherwise, when you leave a comment, people can't find you to comment back.

Let’s rock the neurotic writing world!

The awesome co-hosts for the March 5 posting of the IWSG are Ronel Janse Van Vuuren, Pat Garcia, and Liza @ Middle Passages!

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say.

Remember, the question is optional!

March 5 question - If for one day you could be anyone or *thing* in the world, what would it be? Describe, tell why, and any themes, goals, or values they/it inspires in you.

How about Shakespeare for a Day? Yes. I'd like to be him. I'd choose the Bard because when he wrote those memorable lines, they were fresh and new. His use of English flowed with beautiful rhyme, and best of all, he got to wear an Elizabethan ruff. Very sophisticated and a mark of high social standing.

Now I'm off to find out who or what other members chose.

I'm coming over to see what you wrote in answer to this question.

I could come up with a lot of excellent writers, but Mr. S's long-lived popularity won me over.

Going back in time would be a double plus for me. I think it would just be cool to be in a famous person in the past just to see what the times were really like. And if my host gave me some ideas about his skill sets that would be a big addition.

Except it wasn't really a great time to live for regular folks. I'd probably be a starving peasant who never got to see one of his plays.

Good choice though I wouldn't want to live during those times.

Interesting choice! I don't think I'd ever think to be someone else.

Your head would be so full of ideas and great ways to write them!

Shakespeare would be fascinating, especially when he was writing "Macbeth." Have a great day, Lee!

Hi,
Sorry about being late. Shakespeare! Yes, I would to be Shakespeare and sit by his side as he wrote The Taming of Shrew or Othello because I like how he enters into the emotional worlds of the main characters. Shalom shalom
