Insecure Writer's Support Group Post Day!

It’s time for another group posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group! Time to release our fears to the world – or offer encouragement to those who are feeling neurotic. If you’d like to join us, click on the tab above and sign up. We post the first Wednesday of every month. I encourage everyone to visit at least a dozen new blogs and leave a comment. Your words might be the encouragement someone needs.

The awesome co-hosts for the June 4 posting of the IWSG are C. Lee McKenzie, Tracy Jo, Melanie Schulz, and LG Keltner!

If you’re following our site or Facebook group but you haven’t signed up for the blog group that posts every month, here are some of the things you may (and will) find when you do:

  • Encouragement
  • Solutions
  • New friends
  • Critique partners
  • Writing opportunities
  • Guest post opportunities
  • Inspirations and writing ideas
  • Connections in the real world
  • Writer conventions
  • New books
  • Opportunities to serve and be served

So it’s more than a chance to voice our insecurities – and the possibilities are endless!

What benefits have you found from the IWSG?

Hey Alex! I'm ahead of the game, thanks to being in Notting Hill, London this morning. I wrote my post a month ago not knowing what computer conditions would be like hear. I think the IWSG is wonderful support! I'll visit the other blogs tonight. We're off to The National Gallery in a few moments. Have a good day, and thanks for all you do in your very busy life to support writers!

Although I am relatively new to IWSG, the posts each month remind me that everyone experiences doubts at times. Other benefits are that many of the bloggers also offer encouragement and suggestions.

I love how the IWSG makes me feel like I'm not alone out there and that my problems are common. I get some great ideas for how to solve my issues and have made a ton of bloggy friends through the group. Thank you!

I've found some great supporters in this group. And some new book reviewer lists to join. The editing post I read a few days ago made me feel better that I'm not alone in having authors ignore my advice. But mostly, I feel better knowing I'm not alone in having insecurities! This time, it's blogging overload. I appealed for new book reviewers and guest posts to fill my calendar. I'm going to start covering clean fiction for adults once I get my Wordpress blog fixed up better.

The biggest benefit I've had from IWSG is sharing my insecurities and knowing I'm not alone in them. The encouragement is amazing. Writing is sometimes a lonely business, and it helps immensely to connect with a great group like this.

I'm not ahead of the game, but at least I'm not behind it this month! *lol* Every time I hear someone express some insecurity about their writing, in whatever format, I point them here.

THe sense of community I feel actually seems real and not something I have to try really hard to grasp, as with other groups. I feel welcomed and supported and like the idea that I may have a chance to let someone else feel that way too.

For me, the best part so far was the A to Z Challenge. I discovered so many great blogs and made several new friends. I look forward to the monthly posts as well, but that Challenge made a significant difference in my blog traffic that is still holding.

So thank you!

The IWSG keeps me writing. Even when I was on a blogging hiatus, I thought about it constantly. I missed the group and the encouragement that every single member offers each month. It's an accountability partner to keep me thinking about writing, about why I write, and why I NEED to be writing!

I made my first post to this group yesterday and have already received a lot of reassurance from other writers. Thanks!

I wish I'd had a group like this in my earlier days! I think it's awesome the support you all provide each other. I'm on the outskirts, so think of me as one of your cheerleaders, cheering the team on!

It was a lovely idea to list all of the wonderful benefits of the Insecure Writer's Group for this post. The most important thing I have found while reading other authors' posts is that we ALL have an insecurity; no matter who we may be. No one is perfect and its nice to have other writers supporting our journeys as we make our mark on this world with our pens.

Why haven't I joined this yet? Hmm.... Thanks, Michelle!

Because I'm alone most of the time, isolated and far from the city lights, IWSG gives me the chance to feel part of a fellowship. I'm not alone.
